What :P Means

I hate it when IM programs interpret the :P emoticon as a SMILING face with a tongue out, as though it's a good natured, goofy expression. The letter P has a straight post, my friends, and that means the smiley should be a straight face with a tongue sticking out, which indicates a negative feeling like regret or disappointment. I hate it when I want to express this and this stupid smiling face with it's tongue out appears.
